New access routes to the island of Ireland

Tourism Ireland warmly welcomes today’s announcement by Lufthansa of a new flight from Frankfurt to Belfast City Airport. The four times weekly service will commence in April 2023 and will certainly help boost tourism business from Germany to Northern Ireland.
Niall Gibbons to step down from Tourism Ireland

Niall Gibbons, Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland, has announced that he will be stepping down from the role after 21 years with the company, 14 years as Chief Executive. Niall has played a part in every aspect of the promotion of the island of Ireland as a tourism destination overseas, since the set-up of Tourism Ireland after the Belfast Agreement of Good Friday 1998.

Tourism Ireland outlines strategy to rebuild overseas tourism - with €78 mililon marketing budget for 2023. Actress Sharon Horgan fronts Tourism Ireland's new global campaign.
Tourism Ireland’s new global campaign – ‘Fill your heart with Ireland’ features new ads featuring actresses Sharon Horgan, from Bad Sisters, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Jamie-Lee O'Donnell, from Derry Girls. The campaign is all about dialling up what differentiates the island of Ireland from other destinations – communicated through various celebrities, who share what fills their hearts with Ireland.
The new campaign will go live from St Patrick’s Day in our top four tourism markets – Great Britain, the United States, Germany and France – and will then be rolled out in nine other important tourism markets around the world.
Travel Restrictions to the island of Ireland

From March 6th 2022 all COVID-19 travel restrictions were removed for travelling to the Republic of Ireland, and from March 18th 2022 all COVID-19 travel restrictions were removed for travelling to Northern Ireland. Visitors no longer need to complete a Passenger Locator Form, nor will they need proof of vaccination or recovery, or a COVID-19 test.

Aer Lingus Summer Schedule 2022

Tourism Ireland warmly welcomes the announcement by Aer Lingus of its extensive new schedule for summer 2022. This schedule includes 71 routes in total, including 16 transatlantic routes.

Recommencement of flights from Dublin to Kerry and Donegal

The Irish Government has announced the return of air services on the Dublin to Kerry and Donegal routes. The Kerry route will be operated by Ryanair, and Amapola Flyg AB will operate the Dublin to Donegal route.
